Regular Season Round 17: BSEU-GrandPrint - Impuls BGUIR 73-79

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Minsk: Impuls BGUIR (#5) and BSEU-GrandPrint (#7). BSEU-GrandPrint was defeated at home 73-79 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BSEU-GrandPrint won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Impuls BGUIR forced 24 BSEU-GrandPrint turnovers. Forward Yuriy Ignatev (202-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. Genadziy Zahar (200-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Impuls BGUIR's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Vitaliy Lebedev (200-99) answered with 20 points and 5 steals and forward Stainslau Ulyanka (194-99) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for BSEU-GrandPrint. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Impuls BGUIR maintains fifth place with 7-7 record. BSEU-GrandPrint lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 15 games lost.
