The game in Zacatecas supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Toros (14-7) played at the court of 6th ranked Barreteros (9-11). Toros smashed Barreteros 94-61. Toros dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Barreteros' 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Toros players scored in double figures. Forward Matt Gwynne (208-87, college: Campbell) replied with 11 points and 7 rebounds and guard Tamir Jackson (190-90, college: Rice) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Barreteros. Barreteros' coach Lawrence Lessett gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Toros maintains second position with 14-7 record having five points less than leader Fuerza Regia. Barreteros at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. Toros will have a break next round. Barreteros will play again at home against the league's second-placed Toros (#2) and hope to win that game.
