Regular Season Round 11: Macae - Vitoria 59-67

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Universo/Vitoria (6-3) defeated on the road 14th ranked Macae (1-8) 67-59 on Tuesday. It was a great evening for American point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Christopher Hayes (203-87, college: Detroit Mercy) helped adding 10 points and 8 rebounds. Hayes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Universo/Vitoria players scored in double figures. Guard Guilherme Schneider (193-86) responded with 15 points and American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Universo/Vitoria moved-up to third place. Macae lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Universo/Vitoria will face league's leader Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Macae will play at home against SKY/Basquete (#8) and hope to win that game.
