Regular Season Round 11: Bourg - Maurienne 90-89

A very interesting game took place in Bourg. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Aix-Maurienne (5-6) to third ranked JL Bourg (7-4) 90-89 on Tuesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aix-Maurienne. JL Bourg forced 20 Aix-Maurienne turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Aix-Maurienne helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Garrett Sim (188-90, college: Oregon) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-91, college: St.Bonaventure) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Point guard Aurelien Rigaux (176-88) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 assists and 4 steals and Gambian forward Moses Sonko (196-83, college: Co.Carolina, agency: HMS) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Four JL Bourg and five Aix-Maurienne players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for JL Bourg. They maintain third place with 7-4 record having four points less than leader Provence Basket, which they share with Lille. Aix-Maurienne at the other side dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. JL Bourg's next round opponent will be Poitiers (#11) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Aix-Maurienne will play against Saint Chamond and hope to win that game.
