There was no surprise when 12th ranked Jilin Tigers (9-11) lost to ninth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (11-9) in Nanjing 117-122. Jiangsu Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Jilin Tigers' 60 and made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Jiangsu Dragons forced 39 Jilin Tigers turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Jilin Tigers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) who scored 53 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Jamaican power forward Samardo Samuels (206-89, college: Louisville) chipped in 23 points. International guard Jinming Cui (193-92) produced 35 points (!!!) and 5 assists and American forward Malcolm Thomas (206-88, college: San Diego St.) added 21 points and 18 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Shanxi Zh. Jilin Tigers lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons' next round opponent will be higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (#4) in Yingkou and it may be quite challenging game. Jilin Tigers will play at home against Guangzhou (#19) and hope to win that game.
