No shocking result in a game in Sao Paolo where seventh ranked Pinheiros (7-5) defeated 11th ranked Mogi (4-4) 74-67. The winners were led by American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) who scored that evening 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Desmond Holloway (191-90, college: Co.Carolina) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Even 21 points by naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Mogi. American forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) added 10 points and 12 rebounds. Mogi's coach Jorge Guerra let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pinheiros moved-up to third place. Mogi lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the eleventh position with four games lost. Pinheiros will have a break next round. Mogi will play on the road against Campo Mourao (#7) and hope to win that game.
