Regular Season Round 9: El Jaysh - Al Sadd 85-64

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: El Jaysh (#1) and Al Sadd (#6). El Jaysh (4-0) crushed visiting Al Sadd (1-3) by 21 points 85-64. The game was mostly controlled by El Jaysh. Al Sadd managed to win fourth quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. El Jaysh looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Dominic James (180-86, college: Marquette) contributed with 22 points, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. El Jaysh's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward AJ West (206-91, college: Nevada) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 20 rebounds and point guard Moustafa Essam Fouda (174-97) added 11 points and 7 assists in the effort for Al Sadd. El Jaysh have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record. Al Sadd at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. El Jaysh's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Qatar Sports Club.
