Regular Season Round 14: Good Angels - UKF Nitra 89-32

Extraliga top team - Good Angels (13-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked UKF Nitra (3-8) in Kosice 89-32. Good Angels held UKF Nitra to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Good Angels forced 28 UKF Nitra turnovers and outrebounded them 43-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by UKF Nitra's players. Good Angels brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. International Dominika Baburova (179-91) notched 21 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and international center Beata Janoscikova (197-93) supported her with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Good Angels' coach Peter Jankovic felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 19 points and 6 rebounds by point guard Nikola Kovacikova (175-99) did not help to save the game for UKF Nitra. Terezia Sailerova (173-99) added 8 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Good Angels have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-1 record. Newly promoted UKF Nitra dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. Good Angels will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UKF Nitra will play at home against Samorin (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
