Regular Season Round 12: Lyon - Tarbes 52-73

Bottom-ranked Tarbes managed to get a third victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Tarbes outleveled tenth-ranked Lyon 73-52. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 21-point difference suggests that Tarbes is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game was mostly controlled by Tarbes. Lyon was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Lyon's 26. Tarbes forced 19 Lyon turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian center Abby Bishop (189-88, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and Senegalese point guard Bintou Dieme-Marizy (164-84) who added 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85) scored 5 points and 10 rebounds. Tarbes (3-9) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with defeated Lyon. Lyon lost sixth consecutive game. Tarbes will play against higher ranked Basket Landes (#3) in Mont de Marsan in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lyon will play on the road against the league's leader Lattes Montpellier (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
