Regular Season Round 12: Macae - B.Cearense 64-53

We should mention about the upset which took place in Macae, where higher ranked SKY/Basquete (5-6) lost to fourteenth ranked Macae (2-8) in a road game 53-64. The winners were led by American guard Benzor Simmons (196-88, college: Tenn-Martin) who scored that evening 14 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) supported him with 9 points and 7 assists. Even 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by the former international point guard David Rossetto (180-93) did not help to save the game for SKY/Basquete. The former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) added 7 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Macae maintains fourteenth position with 2-8 record. SKY/Basquete at the other side dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. Macae's next round opponent will be league's leader Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
