Regular Season Round 12: Franca - Minas 75-74

A very close game took place in Sao Paulo between Vivo/Franca and Minas. Tenth ranked Vivo/Franca (6-5) got a very close home victory over 9th ranked Minas (5-6). Vivo/Franca managed to escape with a 1-point win 75-74 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Minas. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Henrique Coelho (183-93) who helped to win the game recording 18 points (went 14 for 14 at the free throw line !!!) and the former international Andre Stefanelli (196-84) who added 8 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was international guard Danilo Fuzaro (193-94) with 17 points and power forward Anderson Mosso (205-82, college: Chipola JC) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vivo/Franca have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bauru and Campo Mourao. Loser Minas keeps the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with B.Cearense. Vivo/Franca will meet Paschoalotto/Bauru (#6) on the road in the next round. Minas will play against the league's second-placed Brasilia and hope to secure a win.
