There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (2-4) defeated on the road 5th ranked Elitzur Holon (2-4) 72-65. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Shae Kelley (185-91, college: Minnesota) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Ashley Beverly-Kelley (168-93, college: Troy) accounted for 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Nigerian-American power forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA) came up with 24 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Alexis Hornbuckle (180-85, college: Tennessee) added 7 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals respectively for Elitzur Holon in the defeat. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Elitzur Holon. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will play against bottom-ranked Maccabi Raanana (#9) in the next round. Elitzur Holon will play against Hapoel Z/MM (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
