Regular Season Round 12: Asseco - Torun 76-80

PLK top team - Twarde Pierniki (12-0) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Asseco (5-8) in Gdynia 80-76. Twarde Pierniki made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. The winners were led by Croatian forward Jure Skific (202-88, agency: 011 Sports) who scored that evening 21 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Bartosz Diduszko (198-87) supported him with 19 points. Four Twarde Pierniki players scored in double figures. Even 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by the former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) did not help to save the game for Asseco. International guard Filip Matczak (187-93) added 17 points. Asseco's coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Twarde Pierniki have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Asseco lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with eight games lost. Twarde Pierniki will meet league's second-placed Stelmet in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Asseco will play against Trefl (#5) in Sopot and hope to secure a win.
