Regular Season Round 26: Hitachi SR - Shiga L-Stars 73-54

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (13-13) crushed 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (6-20) in Tokyo 73-54 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Hitachi Sunrockers. Shiga L-Stars managed to win fourth quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hitachi Sunrockers forced 19 Shiga L-Stars turnovers. The former international forward Yuki Mitsuhara (198-89) notched 18 points to lead the effort and American power forward R.T. Guinn (208-81, college: Baylor) supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks by Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Shiga L-Stars. Guard Narito Namizato (172-89) added 7 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains third position with 13-13 record having ten points less than leader SeaHorses. Shiga L-Stars lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 20 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will again meet at home Shiga L-Stars (#6) in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round.
