Regular Season Round 12: Poitiers - Bourg 68-82

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Poitiers (5-7) was defeated at home by fourth ranked JL Bourg (8-4) 82-68 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by JL Bourg. Poitiers was better in second period 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Poitiers 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Garrett Sim (188-90, college: Oregon) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 assists and Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-91, college: St.Bonaventure) who added 10 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four JL Bourg players scored in double figures. JL Bourg's coach Savo Vucevic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Christophe Leonard (199-90) with 11 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Steve McWhorter (180-92, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) scored 9 points. JL Bourg have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Poitiers dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. JL Bourg will face Chorale de Roanne (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Poitiers will play against Boulazac Basket (#16) and hope to win that game.
