Regular Season Round 7: Aisin AW - Tokyo HT 70-72

Sixth-ranked Aisin AW (6-8) gave a tough game to third ranked Tokyo HT (14-8) in Aichi. The visitors from Tokyo managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected easier game. Tokyo HT outrebounded Aisin AW 41-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Brian Harper (204-85, college: Paine, agency: HMS) accounted for 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Four Tokyo HT players scored in double figures. Guard Kyouhei Kumazawa (180-88) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Kei Kato (172-93) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for Aisin AW in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Tokyo HT maintains third place with 14-8 record having five points less than leader Fukuoka Rizing, which they share with Otsuka A. Aisin AW at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Tokyo HT will play against Toyoda Gosei (#7) in Aichi in the next round. Aisin AW will have a break next round.
