Regular Season Round 27: Kyoto Hannar. - Hokkaido L. 64-75

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Kyoto Hannar. (12-14) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Hokkaido L. (7-19) 75-64 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 11 points. It was a great evening for American forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Hokkaido L. moved-up to fourth place which they share with defeated Kyoto Hannar. Loser Kyoto Hannar. keeps the fourth position with 14 games lost. Hokkaido L. will have a break next round. Kyoto Hannar. will play again at home against Hokkaido L. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
