Regular Season Round 27: Toshiba BT - Toyota Alvark 92-106

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Toshiba Thunders (23-4) in Kanagawa on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Toyota Alvark (20-5) 106-92. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Toshiba Thunders. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Toshiba Thunders managed to win fourth quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Troy Gillenwater (205-88, college: N.Mexico St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) helped adding 30 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Ryan Spangler (203-91, college: Oklahoma) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota Alvark maintains first place with 20-5 record which they share with defeated Toshiba Thunders. Toshiba Thunders at the other side still keep top position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
