Regular Season Round 26: Fukushima - Nishinomiya S. 84-69

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Fukushima. Second ranked Fukushima faced second-ranked Nishinomiya S.. Host Fukushima (18-7) defeated guests from Hyogo (17-8) 84-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Nishinomiya S.. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 29-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Fukushima players scored in double figures. Australian center Jordan Vandenberg (216-90, college: N.Carolina St.) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Jun Taniguchi (191-92) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fukushima have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-7 record behind leader Kumamoto V. which they share with defeated Nishinomiya S. Loser Nishinomiya S. keeps the second place with eight games lost. Fukushima will again meet at home league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nishinomiya S. will have a break next round.
