An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Yamagata. Third ranked Yamagata faced second-ranked Dragonflies. Host Yamagata (13-12) defeated guests from Hiroshima (19-6) 72-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Dragonflies. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 21-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Shunto Murakami (183-96) chipped in 19 points. Australian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Yamagata maintains third position with 13-12 record having six points less than leader Kumamoto V. Loser Dragonflies still keep top place with six games lost. Yamagata will face again Dragonflies (#3) in Hiroshima in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
