Regular Season Round 26: Iwate Big Bulls - Bambitious Nara 75-71

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Bambitious Nara (7-18) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (6-19) 75-71 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 39-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Ohara Yoko (186-89) chipped in 16 points. Four Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. Guard Atsunobu Hirao (178-89) produced 16 points and 5 assists and American forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Bambitious Nara's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Iwate Big Bulls have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 6-19 record. Loser Bambitious Nara dropped to the fifth place with 18 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will face again higher ranked Bambitious Nara (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
