Regular Season Round 27: Sendai 89ers - Nagoya DD 70-75

Not a big story in a game when 4th placed Sendai 89ers (7-20) were defeated at home by second ranked Diamond Dolphins (17-10) 75-70 on Saturday. Sendai 89ers trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 31-23 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 70-75 at the end of the game. Diamond Dolphins made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) with 24 points and 9 rebounds and South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Diamond Dolphins have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-10 record having six points less than leader SeaHorses. Sendai 89ers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
