The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tochigi Brex as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Tochigi Brex defeated 5th ranked Yokohama BC at home 84-69. The game was mostly controlled by Tochigi Brex. Yokohama BC managed to win third quarter 26-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Yokohama BC 36-23 including 21 on the defensive glass. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 22 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international guard Hironori Watanabe (180-88) chipped in 23 points and 6 assists. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. The former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) produced 22 points and American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (210-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Toyota Alvark. Yokohama BC at the other side keeps the fifth place with 18 games lost. Yokohama BC will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Tochigi Brex will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya.
