Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Otsuka A. (#4) and Tokyo Cinq R. (#5). Tokyo Cinq R. was defeated at home 78-92 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Otsuka A.. Tokyo Cinq R. managed to win third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Otsuka A. had a 32-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Shuichiro Samejima (188-87) chipped in 14 points. Four Otsuka A. players scored in double figures. American power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and guard Kodai Takahashi (180-91) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Otsuka A.. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Tokyo HT. Loser Tokyo Cinq R. keeps the fifth position with 15 games lost. Otsuka A. will meet league's leader Fukuoka Rizing on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tokyo Cinq R. will play against the league's second-placed Kanazawa Sam. (#2) in Ishikawa and hope to secure a win.
