Regular Season Round 21: Guangdong ST - Shenzhen L. 107-100

Rather predictable result when second ranked Guandong Tigers (18-3) won against 6th ranked Leopards (15-7) in Dongguan 107-100. Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Leopards' 60. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. 27 personal fouls committed by Leopards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Donald Sloan (190-88, college: Texas A&M) who scored 32 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Carlos Boozer (206-80, college: Duke) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) who recorded a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and the former international forward QuAn Gu (202-92) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively. Five Guandong Tigers and four Leopards players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Guandong Tigers have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. They maintain second place with 18-3 record behind leader Shanghai S. Leopards lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Guandong Tigers' next round opponent will be Jilin Tigers (#12) in Changchun and are hoping to win another game. Leopards will play at home against Shanxi Zhongyu (#10) and hope to win that game.
