Regular Season Round 27: Fukushima - Nishinomiya S. 58-91

There was a minor upset when second-best Fukushima (18-8) was smashed at home by second ranked Nishinomiya S. (18-8) 91-58 on Sunday. The game without a history. Nishinomiya S. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Fukushima's 26. They outrebounded Fukushima 51-28 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated also this game. It was a good game for forward Larry Owens (201-83, college: ORU, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Five Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. Nishinomiya S.'s coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Donnavan Kirk (206-91, college: Miami, FL) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Fukushima. Nishinomiya S. maintains second place with 18-8 record having just two points less than leader Kumamoto V., which they share with defeated Fukushima. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
