Bottom-ranked Shiraz a.s Pipe (0-10) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to third ranked Naft Abadan (7-3) 89-75 on Thursday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Naft Abadan. Shiraz a.s Pipe managed to win second period 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International Mohammad Hassanzadeh (203-90, agency: Three Eye Sports) fired 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American-Ivorian guard Doron Perkins (189-83, college: Santa Clara) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Five Naft Abadan players scored in double figures. Naft Abadan moved-up to second place, which they share with Arak. Newly promoted Shiraz a.s Pipe still closes the standings with ten games lost. Naft Abadan will meet Army (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Shiraz a.s Pipe will play against Azad in Tehran and hopes to get finally their first victory.
