Regular Season Round 18: Boras - Malbas 77-49
Date: December 30, 2016
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Boras Basket (9-7) crushed at home bottom-ranked Malbas (1-14) 77-49. The game was mostly controlled by Boras Basket. Malbas was better in fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Malbas to just 7 points in second quarter. Boras Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Malbas' 30. They outrebounded Malbas 46-25 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Boras Basket brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international Christian Maraker (207-82, college: Pacific) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. International swingman Fredrik Andersson (202-93) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Boras Basket players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Danish guard Sebastian Petersen (188-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Fredrik Larsson (201-93) added 9 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Boras Basket moved-up to third place. Malbas lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Boras Basket's next round opponent will be KFUM Jamtland (#6) on the road. Malbas will play against Nassjo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
