Regular Season Round 28: Gunma - Toyotsu FE 59-64

The game between Top Four teams took place in Gunma. Top-ranked host Gunma (19-9) lost to first ranked Toyotsu FE (22-6) 64-59. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gunma won fourth quarter 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Rodney Carney (201-84, college: Memphis) supported him with 18 points. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) did not help to save the game for Gunma. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) added 16 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Toyotsu FE have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-6 record, which they share with Hiroshima D. Gunma lost third consecutive game. They still keep top place with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
