Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Zornotza (7-8) and Gandia (5-10), which took place in Gandia. Higher ranked Zornotza lost to fourteenth ranked Gandia in a road game 74-83 on Friday. Zornotza trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 28-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-83 at the end of the game. Gandia forced 19 Zornotza turnovers. Zornotza was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Miguel Martinez (183-95) who led his team to a victory with 24 points (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). Zornotza's coach Mikel Garitaonandia let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gandia moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Tarragona and Albacete. Zornotza lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Gandia will face higher ranked Sammic ISB (#3) in Azpeitia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
