There was no surprise when 16th ranked Magia Huesca (4-13) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Caceres Basket (8-9) 73-57 on Friday. Caceres Basket outrebounded Magia Huesca 42-24 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lithuanian forward Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: Wisc.-Parkside) stepped up and scored 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (208-90, college: De Paul) chipped in 7 points and 9 rebounds. Bosnian Mirza Bulic (207-92) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian Jokubas Gintvainis (193-94) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Caceres Basket moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Castello and Palma. Magia Huesca lost their fifth game in a row. Loser Magia Huesca keeps the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. Caceres Basket will face higher ranked Palencia Baloncesto (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Magia Huesca will play against Leyma Basquet (#6) in Coruna and hope to win that game.
