Regular Season Round 19: Kauhajoki - Pyrinto 84-82

A very close game took place in Kauhajoki between Kauhajoen Karhu and Tampereen Pyrinto. Fourth ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (10-9) got a very close home victory over 8th ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (7-11). Kauhajoen Karhu managed to escape with a 2-point win 84-82 on Friday evening. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great evening for American forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Tate Unruh (193-90, college: N.Colorado, agency: Inception Sports) helped adding 22 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American forward J'Nathan Bullock (196-87, college: Cleveland St.) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Topias Palmi (194-94) scored 17 points. Tampereen Pyrinto's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Kauhajoen Karhu. They maintain fourth place with 10-9 record. Loser Tampereen Pyrinto dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Kauhajoen Karhu will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tampereen Pyrinto will play against Kouvot (#6) in Kouvola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
