Regular Season Round 23: Fujian S. - Jiangsu D. 116-106

There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Fujian (6-17) defeated higher ranked Jiangsu Dragons (11-12) in Jinjiang 116-106 on Friday. Fujian made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Fujian outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 49-37 including 37 on the defensive glass. Jiangsu Dragons were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. International Zhelin Wang (215-94) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) contributed with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Five Fujian players scored in double figures. American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) answered with 57 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Yifan Hou (196-92) added 20 points in the effort for Jiangsu Dragons. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fujian moved-up to sixteenth place. Jiangsu Dragons lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Fujian will face bottom-ranked Guangzhou (#20) on the road in the next round.
