Regular Season Round 21: Nova Ves - Nitra 91-62

Bottom-ranked Nova Ves managed to get a second victory on Friday night. This time they outleveled tenth-ranked Nitra 91-62. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 29-point difference suggests that Nova Ves is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. Nova Ves outrebounded Nitra 39-24 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American-Jamaican Phil Henry (203-91, college: E.New Mexico, agency: Global Sports Plaza) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and international forward Viktor Juricek (211-93, college: Texas A&M-CC) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Nova Ves players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine) with 21 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian point guard Nikola Otovic (185-89, college: Caldwell) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nova Ves maintains eleventh place with 2-18 record. Nitra lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 17 games lost. Nova Ves will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nitra will play against Rieker KN (#6) and hope to secure a win.
