Regular Season Round 30: Hokkaido L. - Ryukyu GK 74-76

Fourth-ranked Hokkaido L. (7-22) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Ryukyu GK (13-16) in Saporro. The visitors from Okinawa managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected easier game. The guests were ahead by 9 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 22-19 run, which allowed them to win the game. Hokkaido L. was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Shuhei Kitagawa (185-85) chipped in 18 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) with 21 points and the former international guard Takehiko Orimo (190-70) scored 9 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ryukyu GK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kyoto Hannar. Hokkaido L. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 22 games lost. They share it with Akita NH. Ryukyu GK will play against Kyoto Hannar. (#4) at home in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against Akita Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
