Regular Season Round 15: Zaragoza - FC Barcelona 75-86

Very expected game when 12th ranked CAI Zaragoza (5-9) was defeated at home by second ranked FC Barcelona (11-3) 86-75 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by FC Barcelona. CAI Zaragoza managed to win fourth quarter 25-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. FC Barcelona looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Finnish point guard Petteri Koponen (194-88) chipped in 18 points. Five FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. FC Barcelona's coach Giorgos Bartzokas used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Dutch center Henk Norel (213-87) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds and German forward Robin Benzing (208-89) added 20 points respectively. FC Barcelona keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Real Madrid. Loser CAI Zaragoza keeps the twelfth place with nine games lost. They share the position with UCAM Murcia. FC Barcelona will meet at home Blusens Monbus (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CAI Zaragoza will play against Movil Estudiantes in Madrid and hope to secure a win.
