Regular Season Round 7: Mayrouba - Louaize 67-74

Very expected game when 9th ranked Mayrouba (2-5) was defeated at home by second ranked Louaize (5-2) 74-67. It was a very good performance for international guard Geron Johnson (190-92, college: Memphis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international Elie Stephan (193-86, college: Alabama So. CC) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American center Robert Upshaw (213-94, college: Washington) answered with a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks and the other American import forward John Bohannon (210-91, college: UTEP) added 15 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Mayrouba. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Louaize. They maintain second place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Homenetmen, which they share with Byblos. Mayrouba lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Louaize's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Byblos at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mayrouba will play against Tadamon (#5) in Zouk and hope to win that game.
