Important game to mention about took place in Sao Paolo. Ninth ranked Vasco Da G. (5-6) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Paulistano (7-5) 86-83 on Tuesday evening. Vasco Da G. made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Paulistano was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 assists. The former international power forward Murilo Becker (211-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Arthur Pecos (183-95) answered with 16 points and 4 assists and the former international center Guilherme Hubner (208-87) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Paulistano. Five Paulistano players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Vasco Da G. maintains ninth place with 5-6 record. Loser Paulistano dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Vasco Da G. will have a break next round. Paulistano will play on the road against SKY/Basquete (#10) in Aldeota and hope to win that game.
