PLK top team - Twarde Pierniki (13-1) managed to deliver another win on Wednesday. This time they beat seventeenth ranked TBV Start (2-12) in Torun 84-73. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-73. Twarde Pierniki looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Power forward Krzysztof Sulima (202-90) fired 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Kyle Weaver (198-86, college: Washington St.) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Twarde Pierniki players scored in double figures. American guard Doug Wiggins (183-88, college: Mountain St.) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists and Serbian forward Stefan Balmazovic (199-89) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Twarde Pierniki have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-1 record. Loser TBV Start stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. They share it with Siarka. Twarde Pierniki will meet Anwil (#4) in the next round. TBV Start will play against Trefl (#3) and hope to secure a win.
