Regular Season Round 22: Lucenec - Iskra Svit 98-96

The most exciting game of round 22 in the SBL took place in Lucenec. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Iskra Svit (11-10) to eighth ranked Lucenec (8-11) 98-96 on Wednesday evening. Lucenec made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian swingman Milic Blagojevic (200-91) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Garrick Sims (203-91, college: Lake Erie) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Puerto Rican point guard Javier Gonzalez (185-89, college: N.Carolina St.) replied with 24 points and 6 assists and Israeli center Anton Shoutvin (206-89) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Iskra Svit. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Lucenec moved-up to seventh place. Iskra Svit at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Lucenec are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Nova Ves (#11) at home in the next round. Iskra Svit will play against Levice (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
