Regular Season Round 7: Byblos - Champville 97-73
Date: January 5, 2017
Fourth ranked Byblos (5-2) crushed at home 8th ranked Champville (2-5) by 24 points 97-73, which is the biggest margin this round. The game was mostly controlled by Byblos. Champville was better in fourth quarter 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian forward Ndudi Ebi (206-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. The former international Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) contributed with 28 points for the winners. Four Byblos players scored in double figures. American power forward Darian Townes (208-84) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import point guard Patrick Rembert (185-89, college: Cal-Irvine) added 18 points in the effort for Champville. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Byblos moved-up to second place, which they share with Louaize. Champville at the other side keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Byblos' next round opponent will be Louaize (#3) in Zouk, which may be the game of the day. Champville will play at home against Hoops Club (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
