Very expected game when 14th ranked Patti (4-10) was defeated on the road by first ranked Valmontone (13-1) 72-67 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Valmontone made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-82) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Manuel Carrizo (198-80, agency: Players Group) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Patrisio Cicive (205-91) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Luca Bolletta (198-91) added 7 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. They have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Valmontone maintains first position with 13-1 record. Newly promoted Patti dropped to the thirteenth place with ten games lost. Valmontone will face Roma S.Azzurra (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Patti will play against Cefalu and hope to win that game.
