Very significant was Cathay Life's (#1, 2-1) victory against Taipower (0-3) 78-61. Cathay Life dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Taipower's 42. Cathay Life had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Jui-Yu Lan (170-83) who helped to win the game recording 16 points. The former international forward Yu-Ting Lin (183-94) contributed with 18 points for the winners. The former international guard Shih-Chieh Chang (172-86) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Hsien-Fang Lin (168-91) added 10 points and 5 assists in the effort for Taipower.
