Regular Season Round 13: Campo Mourao - Mogi 95-94

A very interesting game took place in Campo Mourao. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 12th ranked Mogi (4-5) to seventh ranked Campo Mourao (7-5) 95-94 on Friday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The former international Betinho Nardi Duarte (195-88) fired 29 points and 4 assists for the winners. Vinicius Oliveira (200-90) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) produced 31 points and 6 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!) and American forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) added 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. Mogi's coach Jorge Guerra tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Campo Mourao have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Mogi lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. Campo Mourao's next round opponent will be Vivo/Franca (#8) in Sao Paulo. Mogi will play at home against Paschoalotto/Bauru (#7) and hope to win that game.
