Regular Season Round 19: Caceres - Forca Lleida 79-84

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Caceres Basket (8-11) lost at home to tenth ranked Lleida Basquet (11-8) 84-79 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Caceres Basket won third quarter 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lleida Basquet dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Caceres Basket's 28. Quite impressive performance for American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Miguel Feliu (198-85) contributed with 10 points for the winners. Guard Luis Parejo (194-89) answered with 18 points and Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (191-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 16 points in the effort for Caceres Basket. Four Caceres Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Lleida Basquet moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ourense and Coruna. Loser Caceres Basket dropped to the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Lleida Basquet will face higher ranked Palencia Baloncesto (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caceres Basket will play against Leche Rio Breogan (#5) in Lugo and hope to win that game.
