Very expected game in Bologna where 14th ranked Chieti (5-10) was defeated by eighth ranked F.Kontatto BO (9-7) 89-78 on Friday. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Leonardo Candi (190-97) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists and American forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina, agency: Two Points) who added 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. Knox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard Trae Golden (188-91, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 24 points and 4 assists and naturalized American power forward Cristopher Mortellaro (207-82, college: Drury) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. F.Kontatto BO moved-up to seventh place in A2. Loser Chieti keeps the fourteenth position with ten games lost. F.Kontatto BO will face Verona (#11) on the road in the next round. Chieti will play against Bondi Ferrara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
