Regular Season Round 6: Istanbul Univ. - AZS UMCS 64-67

The game between Top Four teams took place in Istanbul. Turkish host Istanbul Uni (2-4) was edged by Polish AZS UMCS (4-2) 67-64. Istanbul Uni was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 20-12 charge of AZS UMCS, which allowed them to win the game. Australian forward Tess Madgen (180-90) notched 16 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Nigerian forward Uju Ugoka (185-93, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Two Points) supported her with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Even 21 points by Bosnian-Serbian guard Sasa Cado (178-89) did not help to save the game for Istanbul Uni. American point guard Tan White (170-82, college: Mississippi St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 16 points. Istanbul Uni's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Despite that victory AZS UMCS went down to second position due to points difference. Istanbul Uni at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Astana Tigers and Kibirkstis. AZS UMCS will play against Vega 1 (#7) in Liepaja in the next round where they are favorite. Istanbul Uni will play on the road against TTT Riga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
