Seventh-ranked Scrivia (7-6) made lots of trouble for first ranked Sesto SG (12-1) on Saturday. The visitors from Sesto San Giovanni managed to secure only one-point victory 58-57. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 20-7 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Sesto SG dominated on the defensive end, holding Scrivia to just 7 points in third quarter. The former international forward Elisa Ercoli (191-95) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Guard Virginia Galbiati (173-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Sesto SG players scored in double figures. Finnish forward Krista Gross (183-90, college: N.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and center Clara Salvini (180-92) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Sesto SG maintains first place in A2 with 12-1 record. Scrivia at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Sesto SG are looking forward to face Carugate (#11) in Corugate in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Scrivia will play at home against the league's second-placed Empoli (#2) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
