Everything went according to plan when twelfth ranked CB Guadalajara (5-7) defeated on the road 16th ranked Rivas (1-13) 66-61 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 29-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Raul Lazaro (195-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds. Senegalese power forward Pape Sow (205-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four CB Guadalajara players scored in double figures. Forward Pablo Gimenez (192-91) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Alejandro Iglesias (180-91) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Rivas. Rivas' coach Juanjo Simon tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. CB Guadalajara have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Lanzarote. Rivas lost twelfth consecutive game. Rivas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. CB Guadalajara will face higher ranked Villarrobledo (#10) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rivas will play against the league's leader Real Canoe (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
