There was a surprise result in Barcelona where ninth ranked Real Celta Vigo (6-7) beat higher ranked Segle XXI (7-6) 65-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Real Celta Vigo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Real Celta Vigo forced 20 Segle XXI turnovers. Guard Maria Ylenia Manzanares (175-83) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and American-Nigerian forward Cecilia Okoye (185-91, college: McNeese St.) chipped in 18 points and 4 steals. At the losing side forward Alba Ibanez (183-0) responded with 13 points and Aixa Wone (184-0) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Segle XXI's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Real Celta Vigo maintains ninth place in Group A with 6-7 record. Loser Segle XXI keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Real Celta Vigo will face Azkoitia (#11) in Azpeitia in the next round.
